A Smile is a Joy for ever

The best medicine in the world without any side effect is a smiling face. God has given this medicine to all in abundance to cure all sorrows. So keep smiling always.
Everybody agrees with this observation, but the tragedy is that it is a smile that is wanting in this world of today. smiling seems to be a luxury which comes in the share of a few lucky persons. Everybody, young and old, are laden with heavy load of life and its painful associates. Most of the people tend to say with Thomas Hardy, "Happiness is but an occasional episode in the general drama of pain."
Let me ask, Is life really painful and tragic? If it is so, then why and from where the words like 'Happiness', 'Joy', etc were coined? After all it is all a matter of attitude that makes the difference. In Hell, Satan boldly and hopefully declared to his followers, "The mind is its own place, and can make a heaven of a hell and a hell of a heaven." True indeed.
In this received span of life (from God) why most of us concentrate on dark aspects, such as pains and sufferings, misfortunes and disasters. Why don't we see beautiful nature, smiling face, murmuring rivulets, soothing breeze, cooling rains, etc. If we enjoy them, we will not have time to be sad on the gloomy aspects of life. So be cheerful always !!!

Almost a year is going before I posted a blog. Bad indeed !!! During this period I have seen a transitional phase in my life. That of retirement as a teacher from my job. Sometimes I ruminate about the phenomenon of retirement, I think, and often people say that a teacher never retires. True. But this is also true for others as well. In fact a politician never retires, even when he is not able to perfrom active political activities. In our country, a number of politicians who are over 80, but they are still in the political fray. But a teacher never retires is more true, as his contribution to the society is perennial and substantial. He can better utilize his time, more than when he did in service, for enlightening people around him. I have been preparing myself for this mission during the last days of my absence from this dashboard.

Revival

Writing after a gap of almost a year. Grown lethargic for no reasons. Sometimes such moods overpower everyone, when a person does not want to do this thing or the other. But to be up and doing is an age-old saying and not irrelevant.
During this year things have changed a lot. The greatest change is that I am retiring this June after forty years of service. One has to retire from a job sometime, but there is no retirement in life. Job of life must go on. Life moves on. Stagnation is death. Wise people have taught us "Don't die while living". Hence after retirement one must at least think of fellow beings. There is lot to be done, and now is the time to accomplish those things which your job did not allow you to do.

Family bliss

How is it that a person craves for family and family ties, and when this end achieved often seeks respite away from his family? I would like to share my views, though they may seem somewhat stale and tiring for some, with my friends about the question posed here.

Happiness s the most sought for blisss for human beings, but a few of us are aware of the availability of this blisss. We always pine for what is nought. instead we should live in realities. this may be taken as a thought for today, keeping in view the beginning.
